How can i add music to my optimus LG phone?

ok so i just got this new phone from sprint called the LG Optimus, and i was wondering how to put music on it so i can have them as my ringtone, or is that even possible? i know that with my old sprint phone the rumor 2 i could record music and then add that as my ringtone and i just cant figure out my new phone to see if it even can record. so please to anyone who can help me with this problem and is very knowledgeable with cellphones and all that please please help me;) thank you so very much!
